Jia

The most common subspecies of dragon, these hearty beasts are common companions to hunters or favored in travel. While they are sentient like all other dragons, these beasts are built for moving heavy objects. Topping out at a whopping 7ft at the shoulder with powerfully muscular limbs and bodies. Their scales are a bit rough, and often jut outward along their back and upper portion of their sides like blunt armored spikes. Their neck is lined with long plates that fold down or ridge up with their mood, flushing with blood if angered as a threat display. Males often have two slightly curved or straight horns protruding from the back of their heads, while females have more ram-like horns. While they often are more social creatures and don't supplement their diet heavily with meat, they can be aggressive and territorial in the wild. Not only are they built perfectly to haul heavy loads, with dense bones and incredible strength, they are also deadly if they charge. Their coloration is often more muted, dark colors, especially earthy tones of red, brown, black, and orange.
