Wizards, unlike elementalists, cover a broader range of magic including summoning. Wizards will almost always have a companion creature, be it one of the smaller Ferunci races or even an Imp. These masters of magic range in profession from performers, mercenaries, scholars, adventurers, and anything in between.
Do keep in mind that while wizards are powerful, they are a jack-of-all-trades, master of none(unless you focus on one type of magic). Meaning if a wizard challenged an elementalist, he would likely lose to the elementalist in a contest of that element. Summoning spells are at their strongest capable of summoning an Imp to act as your servant, or convert one of the smaller Ferunci races to becoming a companion or familiar. Illusion magic, while powerful, is limited to the mind of the target, not the caster(0 effect on Rekos, lesser or no effect on Demons, Devils, Guardians and Lorekeepers. Dragon races are mostly immune, but can be played by optical or auditory trickery)
